🏔️ What to Expect at Our Mountain Home We want you to have the best possible experience at our mountain home, and believe that transparency helps you make the best decision for your stay. Please review the details below so you know exactly what to expect before booking: 🌐 Internet Access We provide high-speed Starlink internet, with download speeds up to 300 Mbps and unlimited bandwidth. It's more than sufficient for streaming, conference calls, and remote work. However, since we are in a remote mountain area, weather-related service interruptions—though rare—can occasionally occur. ⚡ Power Outages Mountain homes can be affected by severe weather, including storms that may cause temporary power outages. While these are uncommon, they can happen. Please note that we do not have a backup generator at this time. 🐻 Wildlife Awareness Staying in the mountains means being close to nature, which can include sightings of bears, mice, snakes, and insects. We have pest control service scheduled more frequently than most properties in the area, but on rare occasions, a critter might find its way inside. We recommend keeping food stored properly and never leaving trash or food outside, per local laws and safety practices. 🚙 Road Conditions Mountain roads can be curvy, narrow, or steep in some places, and terrain may vary throughout your drive. During winter months, rainy weather, or icy conditions, roads can become more challenging to navigate. A 4x4 or all-wheel-drive vehicle is strongly recommended during snow or ice for safe access to the property. Travel insurance is also a good idea in case of unexpected weather disruptions that may affect travel plans. 📶 Cell Service We’ve had no issues with major carriers such as Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile at the property. That said, because coverage can vary in mountain areas, we still recommend saving directions and check-in info in advance just in case. Wi-Fi calling is also available once you're connected to our Starlink network.
